Title

Multi-functional Polymer Based Materials – Derived and Learned from Nature.

Description

The purpose of this GAANN program is to train and mentor doctoral fellows to explore high performance materials either derived from nature or inspired by nature. Human beings have looked at nature for answers to problems throughout our existence. Nature has solved many problems, such as self-healing abilities, environmental exposure tolerance and resistance, hydrophobicity, self-assembly, harnessing solar energy, etc. Bio-derived materials offer a sustainable alternative to petroleum based feedstock, which helps to lead to a more sustainable world.
